CHEESECAKE BROWNIE RECIPE

This brownie recipe is my husband’s favorite and it’s requested A LOT! The homemade brownies have a layer of fudge brownie studded with chocolate chips, a layer of cheesecake and then another brownie layer with chocolate chips on top. They are super fudgy and rich and any chocolate lover’s dream dessert. These cheesecake brownies are such a fun and delicious twist on the classic brownie recipe and are still really simple to make. I doctored a box mix to make things a little easier and they tasted amazing, especially when you add a few of my secret ingredients. Make sure to have a tall and cold glass of milk ready with these gooey cheesecake brownies!



My kids helped me whip up this brownie recipe and they each took turns stirring the batter. They may have snuck the spoon after too…I don’t blame them :) Brownie batter is almost as good as the finished dessert! When making the homemade brownies, I like to line my pan with foil. This helps make clean up a breeze, as well as makes it easier to cut the cheesecake brownies. I love to swirl the brownie batter and cream cheese mixture to give the homemade brownies that beautiful marble design. So much swirled goodness….YUM!

INGREDIENTS

  • 18 oz brownie mix (1 box)
  • 6 tbsp melted butter
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2  tsp vanilla
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cup mini chocolate chips

FOR THE CHEESECAKE FILLING:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened (1 package)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F. Line a 9×9″ pan with foil and spray with non-stick cooking spray. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, add the brownie mix, butter, buttermilk, vanilla, egg and 1/2 cup chocolate chips. Stir for 2 minutes, or until smooth.
